“I AM SOUGHT OUT!” Part I
“I AM SOUGHT OUT!”
A PUBLICATION OF HEPHZIBAH BEULAH MINISTRIES

Jesus is looking for you. Know that you are not forsaken. I am chosen for this task. I am sought out. “Thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name.vs2 And they shall call them, The holy people, the redeemed of the Lord: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.vs12” Isaiah 62

In the year King Uzziah died marked the beginning of Isaiah’s ministry. Similarly to Joshua having to come to grips with Moses death, this event marked the beginning of his conquest into the promised land. Isaiah prophesied during a stormy period of war as well. Israel had already experienced a decline and Judah was now threatened. Isaiah whose name means “The Lord Saves” becomes a vessel of demonstrating God’s judgement and salvation through the prophetic. Joshua was sought out for the task of leading forward the tribes of Israel from slavery into rest in the promised land. His name similarly also means, “The Lord gives Victory” appropriate to his occupation as a leader and warrior.

It is a part of the grand cycle. There are some things you will outgrow. There are some things that no longer serve it’s intended purpose. There are some people you will have to move on from. Just like King Uzziah and Moses those things are dead. It may as well be that putting those things to death enabled a new season to come to fruition. How many times have you found yourself hanging on to that old sweater?; hanging on to that old relationship?; hanging on to that tired excuse? More times than not, when one finds themselves hanging onto something that is not working. One should immediately begin the process of stimulating our mind through new experiences, book reading, or new people. Before long that old paradigm gets cancelled out. Once a mind has been enlightened it can never go back. There will be some kind of change. One has to acknowledge that some things in life have seasons. It’s nice for you to want everybody to be part of your life, however, there are some people assigned to this season. Then there are others who can’t continue on into your next season for whatever the reason. It’s not good or bad. It is the way God has made it.

In order to get the victory out of certain situations or to receive God’s redemption something is going to have to die. It could be pride, a bad habit, or even a haughty spirit. When we die to self, we can receive God’s salvation. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father but by him. One must be drawn or sought out. So salvation is not by accident, it is intentional. Many are called. Few are chosen. Have you answered the call? Are you intentional about spreading the gospel to draw someone else? Jesus said the harvest was plenty and the laborers were few. God is looking for you.

John 3:16-17 says For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God sent his Son not to condemn the world but by him the world could be saved. “I am Sought Out!”

Jesus and his disciples were not accepted at one city and the disciples wanted to destroy that city. Jesus asked them do you not know what spirit you are of? We have not come to destroy but to save. They went to another city. “I am Sought Out!”

There is a story about David’s kingship. It tells about how he wasn’t even in the line up. He had been counted out by his siblings, looked over by his parents, and his faithfulness overlooked in the field. He was sought out of the field and onto the battlefield. He slays Goliath and gets a glimpse of his inheritance. “I am Sought Out!”

What about Joseph? God was seeking him early through dreams. He appeared to be forsaken and just having the worst of things happening to him. He stayed faithful in his hardship. In jail, his talents brought him before great men to be sought out for years to come. “I am Sought Out!”

The truth is God is looking for a willing vessel.    He is seeking you daily to come to him. He wants to share your life and have a relationship with you.

No matter the trial one must recognize God’s best in adversity and odd situations. Whether you are a Christian or not, the first person we call on in the time of trouble is God. Most want to cut a deal, if you do this Lord, I will straighten up. Why does God have to be a bail out or a get out of jail card? Believe me, we will never be worthy of all he has done for us. Even at our best, we as filthy rags. As a former perfectionist, this gave me great confidence in God. I realized that I am holy because God is holy. I don’t have to create my righteousness. Jesus covers me with his blood. I become righteous. It is great freedom in God, not liberty to sin. We should constantly be growing from faith to faith and glory to glory towards the mark(s) set for our lives. When we are radiating Christ, no matter what forces are against us or not working in our favor, the world will acknowledge the power of God in your life and seek us out!

Paul in Acts 27:10 try to warn the guards of whom he is a prisoner.   “Men I can see that our voyage is going to be disastrous and bring great loss to ship and cargo, and to our own lives also.” The bible says instead of listening to what Paul said. They sought out the pilot and the owner of the ship. The storm did come and after a good battering. The crew start unloading and throwing stuff overboard.  They started to lift some weights off. After denying themselves to food, involuntary fasting, Paul now could approach the men on behalf of the one who sought and sent him.

Paul informs the men that they could have spared themselves. You mean to tell me that all that struggling to keep the ship stable, getting beat down by the storm, losing my valuables, wasting my time, loss to our finances, damage to our heart, and hunger to our body could have been avoided? How? Paul urged if you only would have listened. But now not one of you will be lost. Now that you have learned some things. The old paradigms have been cast out. You have denied yourself. I can assure you that if you stay with the ship, God is going to save us but only the ship will be destroyed. It says that when the ship struck the sandbar, whereas the prisoners could run to shore. The guards wanted to kill them but because they sought to spare Paul’s life. No one was killed. Prophecy fulfilled. As a child of God, “ I am Sought Out!”

Isaiah 65:1 reads “ I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.” What is this saying? We were not the chosen people but we have been grafted in. We were lost and now found. We can receive the divine call to salvation by the name of Jesus Christ.

My grandmother used to have a habit of shouting Jesus in the midst of something bad. You knew something wasn’t right, if you heard my grandmother scream, “Jesus!”. We would go running to where she was trying to get a glimpse of who she was getting a taste of “Jesus!” today. I have seen fights stop, crowds disperse, and accidents alluded by the sound of her scream, “Jesus!”.
I learned at an early age that there is power in that name. Joel 2:32 reads that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Say the name. It is a good name. The name above all names. To this name every knee shall bow and tongue confess that Jesus is Lord. God has a plan he is seeking us out. It should be a habit to seek God out?

II Chronicles 7:14 reads that if my people, who are called by my name would humble themselves and pray, seek my face, turn from their wicked ways, then they would hear from heaven, I will forgive their sins, and heal their land. It says in another verse that if we ask, we would receive. If we seek, we would find. If we knock, the door will be opened. We have not because we are asking amiss, so that we can devour of our own lust. We aren’t thinking of being a blessing to others. He is the father of all fathers seeking us out. The vessel with a heart, mind, and spirit in his image.   Seek his face and not his hand and you will find yourself, Never forsaken, “I Am Sought Out!”
